Twenty six volume collection. Attractive contemporary half red leather. Marbled boards, edges and end papers. Elaborated gilt stamped spines with green and red labels. Bar minor sunnning and occasional light prelim end paper browing a highly attractive set. Tight and unscuffed or dried hinges. Each volume a height of 19.cm and width circa 3cm. With all the original illustrations. by Phiz, Cruikshank, Marcus Stone etc. The illustrated Library edition was issued between 1861-1874. Complete it is in thirty volumes the last volume here is two vols of Our Mutual Friend which was issued in this edition in 1869. The last four volumes were The Uncommercial Traveller, Childs History, Christmas stories and Edwin Drood which points to this set being bound prior to their issue which was in 1874
