Signature of the Poet Laureate Robert Southey to top of title page and earlier signature, more contemporary to bottom of page. Southey's Bookplate to inner front board,showing coat of arms on a shield, suspended from a belt over a tree, lettered with motto 'in Labore Quies', and leaning against a rock, from which spring-water flows into a brook; helmet and conical object surmounted by cross at left;
